Cassava Cake from A to Z workshop! Dig up your cassava root yourself, then grate it lovingly before transforming it into a cake! Full of pride, you will then savour your Creole lunch at the table d’hôte before finally being able to taste the fruit of your labour.
Your day begins at Les Citronnelles table d’hôte, hidden amongst the sugar cane fields in the highlands of Sainte-Marie. Ariane and Jean-Marc will welcome you with a freshly brewed coffee, before driving you to their farm. Bring something to take notes, because Jean-Marc can tell you all there is to know about how to use medicinal plants! Children will love the farmyard animals.
This is where you will dig up your cassava root.
Once you get back to the table d’hôte, the “cassava cake” workshop begins. Everyone pitches in.
It's lunch time already. The table is set under the veranda. There's a selection of fritters to start with and a drink, followed by two dishes (1 meat dish and 1 fish dish, and finally, your famous dessert!
The day ends on this sweet note.
Conditions : Open to everyone. Bring closed shoes and rain and sun protection for the tour of the farm.
